Japan also stretches geographically from the cold north of Hokkaido all the way to the warm south of Okinawa. Most tourists chase cherry blossom season, but the truth is autumn is every bit its equal.
Best Time to Fly
April for cherry blossom season if you want the full experience, and October–November for the golden autumn that avoids the crowds. Autumn is my personal pick — better weather, more stunning colours, and fewer people 🍁

Japanese summer means humidity plus heat plus crowds 😓. June specifically is relentless rain. If you fly in this window, cut back your schedule and build in more rest stops than usual.
